How Do I Get Started?
Once we have added you to our Basecamp account you will receive an invitation to your email address. If you cannot find your invitation let us know and we can re-send it to you at any time.
In the invitation there will be a link to a page where you can create your account. This page will prompt you to choose a username and password. Once this is completed you will be able to login to your account and view your project.

Forgotten Username/Password
If you have forgotten your username and/or password to your Basecamp account click the link "Help: I forgot my username or password" which appears on the Client Login page, and on the Basecamp login home screen.
Since each user chooses their own unique username and password the only way to reset it is by using this link. An administrator at Lux Bookkeeping cannot do this for you because the process is handled by 37signals in an effort to keep your information secure at all times.

Password Protection
Each user with access to a client's project is given their own unique login and password. In order to keep everything in Basecamp secure, each password must be secure. Including numbers and punctuation in a mixed case password makes it exponentially harder to discover.
Please ensure the security of your data by choosing a secure password that only you know. Here is a great article on how to choose a secure password from wikiHow.

Messages (and Comments)
Messages take the place of emails, keeping all discussions centralized, indexed by topic, and archived by date. Post a message or a comment to an already posted message. Every time a message or comments is posted, people on the project will be notified via email, so everyone is always kept up to date.

To-Do Items
Want us to get something done for you? Assign us a to-do item, or a whole to-do list -- even assign individual due dates to items to let us know when you would like it done.
To-do lists can be associated with milestones to manage your large projects.

Milestones and Calendar
The calendar is used to track in office visits, (with associated to-do lists to make sure everything gets done when we visit) off-site work completion due dates, and any other deadlines.

File Sharing
We use Basecamp to keep all project files centralized, safe, and archived by date. Files are kept with related information attached to messages, comments, milestones, or even to-do lists.
Other file sharing facts:
- Automatic image previews
- Built in version control
- Easily search your files by date, name, size, category or who uploaded it
- Handles files up to 100 MB

Basecamp Security
Basecamp/37signals is dedicated to keeping your information safe and secure. Their state-of-the-art redundant server cluster is hosted and professionally managed. Their servers are protected by biometric locks and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitoring. Only authorized personnel have access to Basecamp's data center. All of their servers are located in the US.
